Confidential Support Groups

There are many positive outcomes that can occur when participating in a group setting that will assist someone in reconnecting to the community around them in a safe and supportive way and provide a safe space for a survivor to grow, discover and heal their mind, body, spirit & essence.  Anyone who wishes to participate in a free group will first meet with our amazing support group Special Victim Service Providers (SVSP) and one of our Certified Confidential Sexual Violence Advocates & Counselors (CSVA) here at NJSACSR to discuss where the person is at on their present path and what group make the most sense for their journey to healing. For the safety and well-being of all group participants, we do have a screening process to ensure that all group members are appropriate for the specific group they may become a part of.

Types of Groups:

Introductory Group: This is a group for individuals that have never participated in a group before and want to try the process to see if it makes sense for where they are on their journey and are not sure if a group setting is the best for them.

Non-Offending Parents/Guardian Group: This is a group geared towards non-offending parents and guardians who have experienced sexual violence themselves and/or are parenting a child that has experienced sexual trauma.

Male Survivors Group: This is a group for male survivors that have experienced any form of sexual trauma.

Sex Trafficking Survivors Group: This is a group for individuals who have experienced sexual violence and/or trauma while being sex trafficked.

Teen & Adolescent Groups: This is a group that is co-facilitated by a school professional partner for teen and adolescent survivors of sexual violence and is held within a hospital setting.

T.R.E.E. (Trauma Recovery Empathy & Empowerment) Group: This is a psycho-educational group for individuals that are beginning to work through past trauma through education.

Transformational Health Coaching

Transformational Health Coach

  • Guidance and providing the tools and support for someone to broaden their perspective and open their minds, hence enabling them to reach their goals.

  • Empowerment is to a large extent down to the individual to realize their own self-worth and self-belief that has, for one reason or another, diminished.

  • Improvement in the sense that an individual will go from where they are to where they want to be, in effect reaching their goal (Self-Management).

What to Expect

  • The first life coaching session will look to gain an overall perspective of someone's life, before identifying which area they seek to improve or are currently unhappy with.

  • The life coach and client will agree on goals that during the sessions will be broken down into more achievable objectives.

  • It is then down to the individual to go away with the techniques they have been taught and work on what has been agreed on.

As mentioned previously in the empowerment phase, it is between sessions that the individual must possess the drive and focus to want to change. This will be facilitated by the life coach who during the sessions will change how someone looks at both themselves and the rest of the world and in time a more positive thought process will be developed. It is the alteration of their thought process combined with the desire to change and challenge themselves that will allow the individual to ultimately achieve their goals.

***Transformational Coaching are 1 on 1 fee-based sessions***
